The Caye Caulker Lobster Fest Pageant Committee this week presents the delegates for this year’s Miss Lobster Fest 2017-2018 pageant. Four lovely young ladies have taken up the challenge and have commenced with preparation to give a great show for the general public to enjoy. The four beautiful contestants are Aleizy Durantes, Aaliyah Elijio, Katleen Cutkelvin and Annabella Requena.
The Lobster Fest committee at La Isla Cariñosa has already put together the schedule of events for this year’s celebrations that commence with the Miss Lobster Fest Pageant on Friday, June 30, 2017, followed by a weekend packed with events for the entire family to enjoy on July 1 and July 2.

Meet the Miss Lobster Fest Pageant 2017 Contestants:
Aleizy Durantes, is an enthusiastic 16 year old. She is the youngest and tallest contestant this year. Swimming and water sports have definitely become her favorite hobbies since moving to Caye Caulker 9 years ago. This compassionate young lady love animals and cares a lot for the environment and urges everyone around her to do the same. Aleizy is attending Ocean Academy high school in Caye Caulker and is now going into her 3rd year coming this August. She believes that everyone can accomplish anything they set their mind to.
Aaliyah Elijio, is 17 years old. She loves being in front of the camera, thus, her hobbies are modeling and keeping up with the newest makeup trends; she can spend hours in front of the mirror perfecting her make up skills. Aaliyah is the shortest contestant this year with lots of energy as she keeps her body fit by jogging. Aaliyah and Aleizy both entered this pageant as best friends and are happy to be each other’s support as they are enjoying this new journey together while making new friendships. Aaliyah is also going into her 3rd year at Ocean Academy, Aaliyah hopes one day we can stop cyber bulling and looks forward to world peace.
Katleen Cutkelvin is 16 years old and is a recent graduate of San Pedro High School and is looking forward to further her education to become a teacher or a flight attendant. Katleen says her ambition in life is to travel the world, as she loves new adventures. Katleen enjoys playing volleyball since she was inspired by both her mother and uncle who played semi pro volleyball. Katleen’s first pair of heels, ever to be own, is because of entering this year’s pageant. She says the first month of practicing in heels, surely contributed to her confident as she walked down the red carpet at her prom.
Annabella Requena, is 16 years old and a recent graduate of Caye Caulker Ocean Academy. She plans on furthering her education as she is currently working part time to gain work experience in the business field as one day she hope to become a responsible business owner on Caye Caulker. Annabella represented Belize in Washington earlier this year at the Central American Youth Ambassador’s summit. She works along with the crocodile research coalition to capture and tag crocodiles for research and in her spear time love working with children, teaching them yoga. She is also a certified scuba diver and was valedictorian at your high school this year.
