Traffic Mishaps (Police Reports)

* Mynor Martinez, 32-year-old, Belizean Taxi Driver of D.F.C Area reported to Police that on Friday, March 27, at about 8:20p.m. while he was driving his white Toyota Minivan with License plate (SP D0067) at the intersection of Barrier Reef Drive and Black Coral Street he felt something knocked into the passenger side of his vehicle and upon making checks he observed a male person of Hispanic decent lying on the ground beside a black beach cruiser bicycle who later was identified as Lorenzo Gonzalez, 27-year-old, Belizean laborer of D.F.C Area. A doctor certified his injuries as wounding. The matter is under investigation.

* On Tuesday, March 31, based on information received, Police proceeded to Barrier Reef Drive in front of Fido’s restaurant where a road traffic accident was observed between a tractor with trailer and a grey Toyota van. Driver of the van was 26-year-old Jose Mencia and 22-year-old Melvin Vidal Videz was driving the truck . The van received damages in the front portion and the windshield was shattered, the driver side door was also damaged. The van was not insured and police arrested and charged Jose Mencia for driving a motor vehicle not covered by a Third Party Insurance. Both drivers were unhurt, the matter is still under investigation.
