Ambergris Today contacted Mayor Elsa Paz to get an update on the street rehabilitation project and we were informed that about three weeks ago the last payment was made to Mr. Medina on the Barrier Reef Drive cobble stone project.
According to Mayor Paz, a contract had already been signed with Mr. Medina on the continuation of all streets in town. Hence the commencement of the street project on Angel Coral Street has begun.
Concrete slabs will be used for the street project and the streets to be upgraded will include Caribeña Street, Angel Coral Street, Buccaneer Street, Black Coral Street, Almond Street and Tarpon Street leading all the way to the lagoon. The Street project is set to finish in a period of six months.
