Boxes of Joy glittered on Thursday, December 11, at Carlo and Ernie’s Runaway Bar as it showcased its fashion show to raise funds for Christmas gifts for the children of San Pedro. The show featured 45 sensational models ages 4 to 15 who hit the catwalk modeling clothing from Wings, Divas and Dudes, Love Belize, and Lynn’s Boutique.
From the opening item to the grand finale, there was continual applause and wows! Miss Chiquitita, Nayobie Rivero made her debut as emcee and was joined by Gaven Zapata, Junior emcee of San Pedro. He graciously flirted with Miss San Pedro Michelle Nuñez who also made her debut as show hostess. The three emcees timely introduced the fashionistas of the four leading clothing stores in San Pedro and the catwalk sparkled with Christmas Eve clothing, Red and White, Glamour and Glitz, Boys Toys, and the hit of the night, Candy Girls.
Nobody could steal the show because they were all awesome in their own right. However, the very appreciative spectators expressed strong enthusiasm with repeated applauses and wows for the tiny four-year old models most of whom made their debut as well. The other group that received much acclamation were the male models who ranged from about 6 to 15 years of age. Yes, there were male models, about 15 of them, and this made for a welcome and pleasant surprise for the spectators.
Santa’s little fashionistas were indeed poised, actually sensational, in bringing in the magic of Christmas. And so is Boxes of Joy- ready to bring the Christmas Cheer by offering to bring over 500 toys to the children of San Pedro. “This will be a record,” commented founder and organizer of Boxes of Joy, Chantel Pascasio to Ambergris Today. "The record last year was 400 toys but this year by the looks of the large attendance, we will touch more children this year."
Ambergris Today wishes to congratulate Boxes of Joy which is comprised of some 20 - teenagers who have committed to bring more joy to the children of San Pedro.
