The ANUGA food show, which is the world’s largest and most important food and beverage fair, had the participation of Marie Sharp Proud Products of Belize. The Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export), in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), presented the Caribbean Kitchen Pavilion at the ANUGA 2013 Food Show, Germany, October 5-9, 2013 and was a huge success.
This was the first time Caribbean Export has taken a collective of food and beverage producers to ANUGA as part of Caribbean Kitchen. The 212sqm space showcased a variety of food and beverage products from across the region, including Taste13 award winners Banana Ketchup from Baron Foods, Tiger Malt from Beverages Caribbean Inc. and Marie Sharp’s Fruit Flavors from Belize.
This year there were over 1200 products that entered the competition and 53 made the final selection. The four Caribbean companies that were selected for the Taste13 competition were; Baron Foods Ltd with their ‘Banana Ketchup’ (Saint Lucia); Beverages Caribbean Inc. with ‘Tiger Malt’ (Barbados); 10 Saints beer by 10 Saints Brewery Ltd (Barbados) and Fresh Fruits Flavours one of Marie Sharp’s Habanerno Sauces (Belize).
Taste13 is an event considered to be the central showcase for innovation at Anuga, and brings together the best new products, trends and future-oriented concepts. It is where visitors were able to get an overview of the top new products at Anuga 2013 that was selected by an international jury of trade journalists.
“It was a very, very busy food show; ANUGA is the world’s largest food show and I think that because our products were picked for its uniqueness because they are fruit flavored habanera, they were showcased at the entrance of the show grounds,” stated Marie Sharp to Belize City media.
According to Sharp a number of countries showed great interest in her habanero sauce including Kuwiat, Dubai, Ireland and Canada. Products on display at the food show were Better Beware: Marie Sharp's Hottest Trio, Fresh Fruit Flavors by Marie Sharp's Habanero Sauce and The Classical Marie Sharp's Habanero Sauce. This was an excellent show as Marie Sharp made excellent contacts and had intense discussions that could help the industry in Belize. Below are the products that were presented by Marie Sharp:
Better Beware: Marie Sharp's Hottest Trio
Marie Sharp's hottest Trio has mastered the impossible: Enough heat for real chili heads without losing the rounded flavor, essential to convert bland dishes in an instant. These 3 sauces bring a little extra jolt of Capsicum, while maintaining the well-balanced composition of all of Mrs. Maries Sauces. The main ingredient, the red Habanero chili is produced in the fertile Maya Mountains of Belize.
Fresh Fruit Flavors by Marie Sharp's Habanero Sauce
Fresh & authentic flavors give a new dimension to spiciness. The combination of Marie Sharp's fruit based Habanero Sauces with many dishes, be it vegetable, seafood or cheese dishes delight many professional and amateur cooks all over. In Europe still almost undiscovered these unique blends with Citrus fruits or Nopal cactus will leave an outstanding impression on your taste buds.
The Classical Marie Sharp's Habanero Sauce
This sauce is the first Habanero Chili Sauce that conquered the world. New to Europe this classical recipe has already followers all over the globe. Only the freshest vegetables are allowed to compliment the main ingredient: The potent red Habanero Pepper harvested at the point of perfection from its original geographic growth area, the Mayan Mountains in Belize.
