For the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, Coca-Cola is creating the world’s most inclusive, participatory experiential event ever. The FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will give more than one million people across the world the chance to experience the FIFA World Trophy™ in their own communities. And this year Belize is included. The FIFA World Cup™ Trophy arrived in Belize City on, Thursday, November 7, 2013.
Local Coca-Cola bottler Bowen & Bowen Limited planned an unforgettable day for Belizean football fans inclusive of the rare opportunity of an up close view of the one-of-a-kind, solid gold trophy, specially produced paraphernalia and photo opportunities. This is the largest and longest global tour of the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy. Visiting more countries than ever during its nine month journey, the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will be the first ever pan-Latin America tour, with events scheduled in 39 countries across the region.
“We are extremely happy to bring the most iconic symbol in football to the world once again. As many countries start securing their spots in the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, this tour gives us the opportunity to share our passion for the beautiful game with fans across the globe, who are given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the trophy up close in their home country. I want to thank our long-term partner Coca-Cola for making this dream come true for many millions of football fans around the globe,” explained FIFA President, Joseph S. Blatter.
