Two downtown businesses were the victims of robbery over the weekend as a computer service store and a graphics design shops were robbed of expensive computers, electronics and cash; the thieves have not been caught and the community is being asked to report any suspected sales of illegal electronics.
CSM 2000, a leading computer service management business in San Pedro, was targeted by one smart thief between April 15 and 16, 2012, as entry to the shop on Pescador Drive was through the window air conditioning unit that was removed from the wall. Once the masked thief gained access to the shop, he cut off the power as if knowingly aware that there were surveillance cameras inside. He went off with a slew of products including: 1 Sony Camera, 1 Kodak Camera (White), 1 Dell Inspiron Laptop (Green), 1 HP Intel Atom (Pink), 1 Play Station PS3 (Black), 9 consul video games including from PS3, Xbox & Nintendo, 2 iPhones (Blue and Black) and $565Bze in cash. A total sum of $7,500 was stolen in cash and electronics by a masked man in a camouflage jacket. He is being described as being short in stature and very slim. This is the third time that CSM has been targeted by thieves and Police continue their investigations.
Gecko Graphics was the second business that was targeted over the weekend as owner Marie Carole reported to San Pedro Police that sometime between Friday, April 13 and Monday, April 16, 2012, that her shop was broken into. Upon opening her shop she discovered the her personal shop equipment was missing which included: 1 Acer Verito X2110 Desktop PC, 1 Acer Aspire Desktop PC, 1 15” Acer flat screen monitor, 1 17” Acer flat screen monitor, 1 HP 4370 scanner, 1 Epson C88+ Printer, 1 Fuji Pix Camera, 1 3½” external hard drive and about $200Bze in cash. The thief gained access to the shop from the back of the building by removing a loose section of the wall next to the air conditioning unit.
Police believe that both incidents are related and are on the lookout for possible suspects with a description gotten from CSM 2000 surveillance cameras. Police are asking anybody with information on these robberies to please report it as soon as possible.
