Principal of San Pedro High School, Mr. Emil Vasquez, sent out a press release this week expressing a humble apology on behalf of the high school after discovering a few pictures in their newly released yearbook for 2011 that definitely do not belong in there.

Mr. Vasquez made note that a senior class picture on Page 3 of the yearbook showed students posing with a “model beer bottle” during the school’s freshmen’s day activities. Ambergris Today discovered the same beer bottle artifact popping up on three other pictures in the yearbook.

“This was an oversight on the part of the school and we would like to clarify that San Pedro High School is in no way in support of or do we endorse any type of behavior from our students that involves drinking or their interaction with alcohol,” commented Principal Emil Vasquez in the press release.

Principal Vasquez would not comment to Ambergris Today how teachers at the school could have missed this beer artifact being passed around the school grounds and as to whether any disciplinary actions would be taken on the teacher in charge of the yearbook or students involved.

    Dear all,

First of all let me congratulate the Year Book Team for a well job done. I graduated three years ago, and after taking a look at the year book this year I was honestly impressed, I mean the layout, graphics and vivid colors definately portrays hard work and dedicated. Wow! Am extremely happy that San Pedro High School is improving and excelling in many factors; not only Academically and in sports but in creativity!

I am happy that Mr. Emil Vasquez sent out a press release expressing his humble apology for this beer artifact incident. I am quite sure actions will be taken to avoid such mishap. Just bare in mind people that sometimes we do things without picturing the consequences later on. But please lets not only concentrate on the negative, side of the story instead lets just congratulate S.P.H.S for the hard work.

I am definately a Proud S.P.H.S graduate and nothing will change that.

The thing is so big, how could it have been overlooked? Why were students allowed to make it in the first place?

Do the students receive instruction on the effects of alcohol on and individual?  Are they cautioned about addiction and alcoholism? Or is it just a huge joke.  These are personal comments and not those of my employer.

Its not that big of a deal, plus its just a picture, its not like the students were doing something bad.
there are worst things going on there .. than to just focus on a picture.
