Two superb students of San Pedro High, Emilie Gomez and Ismael Kay, have returned from Los Angeles, California after having participated in two theatrical productions entitled “Our World Pre XVI” and “Our World V”.
After several months of preparation, hard work and dedication Ismael and Emilie participated along with other students from around the world, as the project uses performing arts to inform and educate young people on current issues affecting them.
Emilie and Ismael travelled to Los Angeles, California along with Mrs. Conchita Flota – San Pedro High School’s Vice-Principal (Chaperon) from June 3 to June 11. During their visit Emily and Ismael were involved in different activities including group sessions, cultural presentations as well as visiting Disney Land, Universal Studios, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, shopping and other fun outings.
“Everybody was loving, caring and very supportive,” commented Ismael. “They made us feel right at home. I believe that we both gave it our best during the performances and we are very proud of our excellent performances.” Both Ismael and Emilie stated that it was a memorable and one-of-a-kind experience.
“I am very thankful to Mr. & Mrs. Heimgartner for all their support and kindness,” commented Mrs. Conchita Flota, Vice Principal of SPHS. “I am very proud of Emilie and Ismael for their great work and I hope that this exchange continues so that other students and teachers of San Pedro High can experience this great opportunity.”
