Destination Weddings in Belize, particularly San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, is a fast growing trend, and recently there has been a lot of international attention directed our way. Wedding planners in San Pedro are doing an excellent job in organizing dream weddings for their clients, making for happy brides and promoting our little slice of heaven abroad. One such wedding planner doing an excellent job is Mrs. Iraida Gonzalez of Belize Weddings. Her wedding planning business has just been chosen to be a part of Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine (DWH) 2011 A-List Planners.

Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine’s senior editor Erika Hueneke visited Belize in 2009 on a press trip and met briefly with Mrs. Gonzalez and on February of this year informed Mrs. Gonzalez that the magazine was interested in featuring Belize Weddings as part of their 2011 DWH A-List. DWH A-List of planners is an editorial initiative designed to expose the readers to quality planners while growing a relationship with the best pros in the business around the world.

Mrs. Iraida Gonzalez/Belize Weddings made the A-List in the DWH and was spotlighted in the May/June 2011 print issue of the magazine which was out for sale on Tuesday, April 12. Mrs. Iraida Gonzalez’s profile on the magazine read as follows:

I am proud and happy to say that Iraida helped me arrange one of the first ever destination weddings in Belize.

It was about 15 years ago when I owned and operated Changes in Latitudes B&B.  It was Easter weekend and Front St, was blocked to traffic but we brazenly drove the beautiful bride and handsome groom down the street on the back seat of a golf cart!  The children came out to touch the hand of the beautiful golden haired bride!....

We dropped into Sandals where the patrons broke into a Spanish love song on their arrival!  It was one of my happiest memories of running my B&B in San Pedro.  Congratulations Iraida!  You have done a wonderful job of making San Pedro a prime choice for "destination weddings!"

    I miss all of you!...

Happy Easter...don't stay up all night everyone!  ha!  All my Love, Lori Reed
