Scenes like this one are the reason why so many tourists have been attracted to Ambergris Caye and San Pedro. It is a scene like this that inspired Jerry McDermott to name his hotel on Ambergris Caye the Paradise Hotel. Then consequently San Pedro started advertising to the world market as a Paradise destination with “NO phones, No television, No problem.” While Paradise was a lush garden of fruit and flowering trees, in San Pedro Paradise means its gracious coconut palms swaying gently in the Caribbean breeze, the white sandy beaches, and a magnificent sunshine almost year-round. Jerry McDermott enhanced this stature with a romantic thatch cabana and a few hammocks which are irresistible to anyone. We still have all the ingredients of a Paradise, so why not a few more cabanas on the beaches for everyone to enjoy?
