Being beautiful is defined as having qualities that delight the senses, especially the sense of sight. Everyone is beautiful in each of her own way, but many women believe that putting on make-up makes them feel and look even more beautiful. The best thing is to look natural, but for some it takes make up to look natural.
It’s natural to see a little girl putting on mommy’s lip sticks or try on her high heels. All girls love wearing make-up and most of us start wearing make-up by the age of 15. There are tons of make-up from face powder, blush, mascara, lipstick, you name it, there are tons and all sorts of colors.
War Paint can be considered as make-up central as it is the only place where you can find tons of cosmetics for all tastes and of course the very best brands. Customers of War Paint were in for a treat this week as owner Zhenia Roberts invited make-up artists and representatives of Cover Girl, Max Factor and Sally Hansen to not only give beauty tips but to give make-overs to those who were interested.
Maria Estella Recinos, distributor/agent for Max Factor and Cover Girl in Belize and make-up artist for over 23 years along with Deborah Andrade of Guatemala, Make-up artist and Representative for Central America and Alexis Mendoza, marketing director were at War Paint to give a presentation of how to properly apply make-up and explain all about the different products and what all we can do with them.
Dorian’s Angels were not going to miss out on an event as such so we were more than happy to have been invited. Angel Sofie was the first to volunteer to have a make-over and while Deborah applied make-up, Alexis explained why and how the product is used. Everyone has a different complexion and skin type and Cover Girl and Max Factor have all of that in mind and have made all sorts of products to adequately fit a person.
The basics of applying make-up were explained step by step, starting with having a clean face with absolutely no cosmetic applied to it. You then go on to putting on concealer to even out your skin tone and brighten under the eyes. Next goes your foundation, and then you apply your face powder. As for applying eyeshadow, one can have as much fun with colors, go for a brown shades for a more natural look or have intense smoky eyes. Finish that glamorous look with a touch of eye liner and mascara. Oh, but let’s not forget those cheeks; Apply some pink or bronzer to those cheeks for an amazing look and finish of your looks with applying your favourite lipstick and lip shine.
Angel Perlita was also in for a treat as she learned how to do the smoky eye effect perfect for going out to the club or party. The Angels were in the company of Mommy Angel, Mrs. Ligia Nuñez and she too got a fun makeover and tried on colors that she had never dared to try on before.
Maria Estella, Deborah and Alexis made sure we all got the proper products that match our skin tone, sensitivity and all products for us to achieve the Cover Girl and Max Factor look. I can say that we felt like Cover Girl Models and we can attest that their commercials don’t lie; we were Drew Barrymore for a day! Lol!
