Every year the Ministry of Education sets aside March as Child Stimulation Month and like clockwork it kicks off with pre-school children doing a small parade on the first day of March. Child Stimulation Month creates awareness to parents and the entire society that early childhood education is essential. The pre-schools encourage parents to get involved in the activities along with their children because it helps with the child’s development.

Captain’s Casino at Captain Morgan’s Retreat was the venue of Saga Humane Society’s Valentine’s Day Fundraiser that was held on Tuesday, February, 14, 2012. It was surely a successful event as a large crowd flooded the casino for some fun gambling, food and drinks, all in support of Saga’s worthy cause.
It’s Valentine’s Day and Love is in the air. With all this love in the air, schools in San Pedro also celebrated this special day with different activities for the children.
Ambergris Today congratulates Skybox Sports Lounge that celebrated its One Year Anniversary on Saturday, February 4, 2012, with a big bash. The place was packed, the music was great, complimentary drinks and snacks were served and the entire night was one big party. After a short year, Skybox has become one of San Pedro's hottest night spots!
Mesa Café held its grand opening party this past Friday, February 3, 2012, with plenty of good food, music, drinks and the company of great friends and invited guests. Owners Zoe Rose Hesse and Patrick Armitage hosted a great evening at San Pedro's newest restaurant/cafe which is located at the Vilma Linda Plaza across the Seaduced by Belize office on Tarpon Street.
Kelly McGuire visited the Island Academy this morning, Friday, February 03, 2012, during their morning assembly where he taught the students the lyrics to his song "Ambergris Caye". It was a great sing-along session for the students as they all had fun learning the lyrics to the song, danced a couple other nursery rhymes and also song Happy Birthday to Kelly.

And Nuñez continued, “A rich person is not one who has much, but rather a rich person is one who is content with what he or she has. In this scenario Miss Elvia is a millionaire because she has truly enjoyed her life, family and friends, good health, the zest of living and being a generous giver to this community.”
Angelo Marin turned five on January 24 but celebrated with a big Scooby Doo Birthday Bash on Saturday, January 28, 2012 with all his friends and family on the beach by Boca del Rio Park. Island parties on the beach are always fun! Angelo and friends enjoyed games, food and drinks on the beach along with entertainment of a fire-eating clown who also served up some crazy ballon animals!
Students of Isla Bonita Elementary School had a great suprise when members of the Christian Chruch From Inidan, USA visited their school and brought along with them a kind donation for all to enjoy. On Wednesday, January 25, 2012, the school received school supplies and each student at the school receive an adorable and cuddly Beanie Babie Plush Toy.
Mrs. Marina Gonzalez owner of one of the most popular super stores in San Pedro, Marina’s Store, along with her family celebrated the 15th Birthday of her daughter Rocio Gonzalez.
Alfonso and Violeta Iglesias of Corozal Town lived several years in San Pedro, and so did Yansie as a child, so they are all considered Sanpedranos. So this weekend, January 14, 2012, a lot of folks from San Pedro headed over to Corozal Town to celebrate Yansie’s sweet 15th Birthday.

Sunday, December 18, 2011 was a night of great dance performances by the San Pedro Dance Company. Definitely the Christmas fever was in the air at the Rafael Angel Nuñez Auditorium. The show featured christmas performances and all the dancers shining on stage with their amazing costumes. The audience cheered and enjoyed another impressive show by the San Pedro Dance Company.
The San Pedro Roman Catholic School held its Christmas Show last night at the R. Angel Nuñez Auditorium with hundreds of students getting on stage to perform for the variety Show. Just before the Christmas Show, Teacher Dianellie Lopez and her Standard 2 class got together at the Central Park Christmas Tree for a photo opp. Merry Christmas from Daniellie Lopez and her Std. 2 class students.
Author and photographer Marius Jovaiša, of Heavenly Belize was in San Pedro over the weekend hosting a book sale and signing event that was held at Victoria House on Friday, December 9, 2011. Marius recently released the second edition of his popular aerial photography book on Belize, called Heavenly Belize.
On Sunday, December 11, 2011, The Varela's Family gathered their children for their traditional Christmas Cookie Day. There were many different christmas shaped cookies ready to be decorated with green, white and pink tasty frosting. All the children were helping out and expressing themselves in decorating their costumized cookie.

Even after his retirement as Principal of San Pedro High School, the entirel student body continues to celebrate Mr. Nuñez's birthday on December 5. For years it was the task of the senior class to organize the big event that meant a break from classes and a free afternoon after the party. Each year every senior class tried to outdo the previous party.
