The San Pedro House of Culture held an official opening for its current Art Show on Friday, November 24, 2017. The exhibition is open for all to see and will run until Friday, December 1, 2017, viewing time is from 9a.m. to 5p.m. Beautiful paintings are available for viewing and purchasing. The San Pedro Roman Catholic School is reaching out to the community of San Pedro for assistance in form of donations to be able to fix their library that is in dire need of repairs. For some time now the current building has been deteriorating slowly and after the September Mexico earthquake the building shook and needs to be reinforced. The building has broken doors and windows and the exterior walls are all rotting and falling apart.

The San Pedro Town Council, in collaboration with the San Pedro Lion’s Club, Projects Abroad, Sage Brush and the San Pedro Branch of the Belize Red Cross have embarked in a massive humanitarian fundraiser geared at providing some disaster relief to our Mexican brothers and sisters. David and Anke Doehm will appear in court on August 24, 2017, in San Pedro Magistrate court for the hearing on their charges for “Cruelty to a Child”. The entire country has been appalled by the circumstances surrounding the death of Faye Lin Cannon and by the lack of evidence from the police department to charge anyone for her death. First on the list of murder suspects are David and Anke Doehm, Faye Lin Cannon’s adoptive parents, but police and prosecution have not been able to obtain enough strong evidence to charge them with murder.

The Board of Directors of The Ariel Rosado Foundation is proud to celebrate five and a half years of service to Belize and thanks all those who made this milestone possible. The Foundation was established in January 2012 to celebrate the life of Ariel Rosado, an outstanding Belizean Role Model who died in a road traffic accident at age 28. In its first year the Foundation offered a total of fifteen (15) scholarships.
Ana Maria Osorio passed on this Saturday, April 22, and was laid to rest on Sunday. She died on Earth Day and was celebrated and buried during the Feast of Devine Mercy. Ana was born in Progreso Yucatan, and lived as a child in Majahual.

Cormac (Corry) Thomas McDermott was born July 17, 1931, in Quincy, Massachusetts, to Gerald Joseph and Mary (May) Josephine Keane McDermott. He graduated from Boston College High School and for a short time was in the Seminary of the African Missionaries, followed by enrollment into the U.S Coast Guard. Corry attended the University of Texas, graduating with a degree in Geology. While attending UT Austin, he met and married Charlene (Cheri) Doherty on September 12, 1957. Their first child, Cheryl Ann, was born one year later. The family then moved to Denver, C
