Our beautiful island of San Pedro was invited to participate in a Festival of Culture that was held in our neighboring city of Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Businesses took full advantage of this ‘Expotur’ and sent representatives to Chetumal to promote their services.
The delegation of San Pedro made their presence with live music, dance, and culinary presentations. The delegation was present at the festival specifically the Expotur which took place on Friday, November 18 from 11a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on the sidewalk of Avenida Heroes in front of the famous Los Cocos Hotel.
Present at the event were the Belize Tourism Board, Tropic Air, Maya Island Air, Ambergris Lake Villas, Ramon’s Village, Mayan Princess, San Pedro Jets International and the San Pedro Town Council.
The San Pedro Town Council officially represented the island and provided entertainment at the festival with San Pedro’s very own Rompe Raja and the San Pedro Dance Company. Those who visited the San Pedro booths were treated to some delicious treats which included ceviche de maimula, conch fritters and lobster dip, to mention a few.
