National Volleyball Zone Competition

The Belize District National Volleyball Zone Competition took place at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium on Monday, November 1, 2011. The Volleyball Competition is for elementary schools and the Zone competition includes teams from Caye Caulker and San Pedro. There were only participants from San Pedro which included The San Pedro RC School, The Island Academy and Holy Cross Anglican School.

The SPRCS male team played against The Island Academy male team and won with a score of 25 – 5, making them the winners and representatives of the zone. As for the girls’ representation, the female team from Holy Cross Anglican School will represent the zone since they won the Island Academy girls with a score of 25 – 18.

Both the SPRCS male team and HCAS female team will be travelling to Belize City on Thursday, November 3, where they will compete in the District Elimination at the Belize City Civic Center.

According to Principal Roxannie Kay of the San Pedro RC School, this is the first time that the school has a volleyball team and is very proud that the boy’s team will be representing the zone in the district elimination this coming week.
