Somebody just recently commented that Gunter Mathieu has the nicest buns and I have to agree!:) He does makes some of the most delicious breads on the island, but his cooking does not stop with his baked goods because Gunter is a wizard in the kitchen. I don’t know how he has all that imagination to create such great food; Master Chef I say!

I don’t usually get up early to enjoy breakfast outside of my house but Mathieu’s Delicatessen might just make me change my mind. I recently enjoyed a delicious breakfast there with a friend, who I thank for dragging me out of bed early on a work day.

Those who want to try something new and exciting for breakfast Manthieu’s is just the right place. It’s not your typical Belizean breakfast but it is for sure a delightful treat. Gunter prepared these two amazing morning ‘pick-me-ups’ that surely made the start of my day a lot better.

Mathieu’s Delicatessen is a San Pedro based catering, food delivery and retail business specializing in freshly hand prepared ready meals, breads, pastries, cakes and beverages. They offer breakfast goods, including cinnamon rolls, breakfast sandwiches, pastries and different types of bread. For lunch, Mathieu’s has homemade pastas: lasagnas, fettuccine and ravioli – and catering for vegetarian customers too.

Owners Gunter Mathieu and Anna William have a cozy drop by deli with a couple of tables outside for customers to enjoy. During breakfast time it is really interesting seeing all of San Pedro pass you by as everybody is gearing up for work and school.

Mathieu’s Delicatessen also has an extensive menu for resorts, restaurants and resellers - offering the breakfast goods and breads, cakes, desserts and snacks. Chef Gunter is also available as a private chef for parties, celebrations and chef stand-in.
