Are there Too Many Street Vendors at Central Park?

Street vendors at Central Park
Nothing against the street vendors around town, but lately Central Park seems flooded with too many of them. They encroach on the seating areas at the park and even make it difficult for parking; adding to the congestion. Do you think there are too many of them in Central Park? Should there be a designated area for them, maybe, under the palapa at Central Park? VOTE AND LEAVE YOUR OPINIONS IN THE COMMENT SECTION BELOW.

"They encroach on the seating areas at the park and even make it difficult for parking; adding to the congestion." Honestly, when you do polls, at least don't ask a question which you are already showing which side you're leaning with... try and be a little more objective... that is, if you want an unbiased answer.

I think that thre needs to be some structuring, like there was before with the fast food vendors.  If they are required to "rent" space for their stalls, then possibly someone will be checking to see that they all have business licences.

I voted yes, but not necessarily too many, just appears to be an unorganized cluster instead of an inviting tourist attraction. When the stalls were there for the food and vendors it was perfect - though a bit dingy. And not sure which gov party tore them down and promised to rebuild them, but they should be held accountable to their promises.

Central park and other public parks should be thriving centers of entertainment and fun, not dilapidated free-for-alls.

Instead of putting lipstick on a pig (Purple bench paint and street markings), Ms. Paz should be rebuilding stalls that meet health standards for 4-6 food vendors and stalls for 4-6 misc vendors. Lease agreements and strick health, safety and cleanliness guidelines to be enforced.

just my 2 bits

I agree that there are too many on the STREET SIDE and BENCHES; however, like Belize City, that doesnt mean there are too many overall. There is lots of space in the center of the park itself...stalls should be built and a monthly commerce fee should be charged by SPTC to use them.

I DO NOT AGREE with using the palapa, because when there's other activities (like fundraisers, etc.) the palapa will be taken up and there will be no shade.
