Deep cuts or wounds were more common 25 years ago than today because people walked totally barefooted. Occasionally one jumped from the pier into the shallow water only to discover that there was a broken bottle that caused a large cut on the sole of the foot, or a conch shell that caused a deep and wide wound.
TREATING CUTS AND WOUNDS:
Hey, I got a lot of good feedback on the remedies for “cagalera”. (loose bowels) One guy told me he actually tried it and it worked so well. Now I’ve got quite a few of those, but not all remedies are for ailments and sicknesses, you know. Some are just handy ways to do things in the absence of the professional product. Let me try a few for you.
Now I already told you that the Cocoa-Cola works well with some honey to cure the sore throat. Well always keep some coke in your fridge because it is a good cure for rust. Forget all those expensive rust remover products. Just saturate an abrasive sponge with Coca-Cola and scrub the rust stain. The phosphoric acid in the Coke is what gets the job done, but 25 years ago we did not know about phosphoric acid. Keep some more Coke handy to clean the terminals of your battery. Yes, even 25 years ago we had wires joining the batteries of the old radios and the antennas. These usually got green with stuff (whatever), and we used coke to clean these wires.
Next keep some HONEY always handy at home. Here is the first use. It is a good remedy for skin blemishes, you know like a little burn or even sunburn. Cover the blemish with a dab of honey and place a band-aid over it. Honey kills bacteria and keeps the skin sterile. This speeds up healing and works overnight.
AND MORE about honey. If you ever get burnt with very hot water or with fire, immediately cover it with honey. It will stop the burning sensation and provide much relief. In the absence of honey, we used to use condensed milk. Works well. Try it. You do not have to bathe or wash it off; you just lick it off.
Now you have a sore and it does not open a mouth for the pus to flow out. Well, mix some honey with flour and cover the sore. Soon, it will show a small point with pus, which you can squeeze and that is the end of your sore. Try them, but don’t tell anyone I told you if it does not work. But I know it will.
And now for some good advertising for COLGATE TOOTHPASTE. Did you know that Colgate toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns? And here is some more. You have a dirty looking silver or gold ring or pendant or any jewelry. Want to make it look shinny like new. Well simply place some Colgate toothpaste on a cloth or toothbrush and brush it over the jewelry. When you rinse it, you will notice a brand new shinny ring. You can even give an old ring to your girlfriend as an engagement and she will think it is new, while it is the same one you have given to previous girls. Now I am not encouraging you to be promiscuous or a Romeo, but simply to economize on polishing up your jewelry.
And I will leave you with these folks form my memories of 25 years ago. Next week, I will teach you to cause a person’s teeth to fall off if that person bit you. Twenty five years ago has it all for you, including a formula how to get rich. Keep reading.
