Back then, the hotel’s restaurant only catered to its guests, giving our visitors a true taste of Belize.

Why? Cuz they deliver the goods; a Belizean IHOP of sorts – breakfast when you desire.

The reputation of being an award-winning restaurant and one of the best in the country definitely precedes Mambo Restaurant at Matachica. Our expectations were surely surpassed when we were invited for dinner during our stay at the ultra chic resort in north Ambergris Caye.

Blue Water Grill

Blue Water Grill Restaurant of the Year 2009

A restaurant review at the famous Blue Water Grill has eluded us for quite some time, but as the famous saying goes, “Good things come to those who wait”, and we must say it was definitely “Worth the Wait”.

After having won the Taste of Belize Restaurant of the Year 2009 earlier this year, we could not let this year go by without having dined at The Blue Water Grill. The award was well-deserved and we only have great things to say about the food, service and great outdoor atmosphere of the restaurant.

It’s a bit far from being Cuban, but the concept has brought even more clientele and life to the quaint Cuban Coffee Shop on Barrier Reef Drive. Pizza and Karaoke! What a great combo! Pedro Jardines, who has been running the Cuban café for quite some years now, found the perfect allure to his restaurant – infusing the air with the smell of sweet and fresh pizza and readying the microphone for some good ole karaoke.

Waruguma Still has the Hype!

When we first wrote about Waruguma it was a small hole-in-the-wall takeout restaurant that had shot to fame because of the delicious Salvadoran pupusas and other small delectable eats. Forward a few years to the present, Waruguma (Garifuna word for “Star”) is still shining brightly on Pescador Drive (Middle Street) where it has grown in popularity and now serves an even bigger menu that includes “A Whole LOTTA” seafood!

El Patio Restaurant Offering a Taste of Belize with an Island Twist

It is recognized as a long-standing restaurant on the island with an excellent dining ambience, where many parties have been celebrated and excellent food has been served throughout all these years. El Patio Restaurant used to provide a dining experience outside of town for many years, but has since moved to a location right in the middle of town where it now boasts a totally new environment for fine dining and now an after hour’s lounge to enjoy some excellent cocktails.

Double the Treat at Fido’s Restaurant & Bar

The entire staff of Ambergris Today got a real treat this past weekend and with Christmas just around the corner it was a great way to start the celebrations. We got invited by Fido’s Restaurant & Bar to enjoy not only lunch but dinner as well! Since we went twice we got to enjoy the laid back lunch time atmosphere and then the lively party zone dinner time mode with live music; both of which were fantastic.
