Racoon's Hitch a Free Ride
We always see racoons in the wild and most of the time think of them as pests. But these three baby racoons seem too adorable to be called pests. Their owner was, well kinda, taking them for a walk along the beach. Just one of those thing you see while strolling the beaches of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize! - Pic by Gerry Badillo

San Pedro's Largest Dog
It stands about 4 feet tall and weighs in at 150 pounds. Holy Molly! And get this, Pepper is still a puppy, yes it is only one year old!

Excitement was in the air last month when word got around town that A-list celebrities in the likes of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, Halle Berry and X-Men First Class’ actors Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult were roaming freely around Ambergris Caye, enjoying the island charm. The Early Bird Catches the Fish
It's early morning sunrise in San Pedro. While most of us are still in bed or getting ready at home to head to work, there are those who are up before the sun rises. A perfect example would be these local fishermen who get up at the crack of dawn to catch sardines for their work ahead of them.

Fresh Conch! Ceviche Yes!
Conch season is still open in Belize; it does not close until June 30! Here are some residents waiting for fisherman Robert Halliday to get those delicious conchs out of their shells. They were ready to make some ceviche on this beautiful Sunday afternoon! A typical scene on the beach. We sure did have some ceviche over the weekend; did you?

Mr. & Mrs. Claus Came to Town
We had to stop Mr. and Mrs. Claus as they drove around San Pedro on Christmas Eve. As soon as we heard Santa say "Ho, Ho, Ho" we immediately recognized that it was Mr. Cory McDermott and his wife Janet who were spreading the Christmas cheer as Mr. and Mrs. Claus on island golf cart. So much fun!

Santa Lands on Palapa
The most beautiful papala on the island, at the moment, belongs to resident Dr. Lerida Rodriquez who has it all decked out for the Christmas Seaon. She took down the thatched roof for repairs just in time for the Holiday Season and lined it up with beautiful rope lights all around. Santa in his slead with reindeers adorn the top of the palapa.

San Pedro Retains its Rustic Charm
It is not the biggest celebration on the island of Ambergris Caye, but it might as well should be one of the biggest. Township was aquired in 1984 and our small quaint little village has never been the same since. Development that came along with the increase in tourism has almost converted San Pedro Town into a city.

Hermit Crab Feast
If you want to lure hermit crabs out into the open, then crack open a coconut and watch them come out. I guess it's the sweetness and richness of the coconut that attracts them, because in no time there were close to ten of them feasting on this coconut that lay on the beach. But who does not like the rich creamy taste of the coconut and its sweet water. Ahhh! Such a delicacy in the tropics.
